Léto se pomalu blíží ke konci, nicméně neuškodí si připomenout jednu z mých prvních letošních samostatných vycházek s foťákem po Praze někdy na konci února, kdy jsem tu už po čase získala trochu větší zázemí, a tudíž i víc sebejistoty v prozkoumávání míst mnou dřív nenavštívených.

The summer is almost on its end, but there's no harm to remember one of my first walks throughout Prague with my camera ready this year, I think it was someday in late February. This time I've already had a stable background here after some time, so I've got a chance to feel more self-esteemed during walking over the places I've never been before.
Moje procházka začala zde, na rohu Staroměstského náměstí u kostela sv. Michala, vcelku obvyklým pohledem směrem k Týnskému chrámu a pomníku Mistra Jana Husa. / My trip started here, at the corner of the Old Town Square, by the St. Michael's Church, with an usual view towards the Church of Our Lady of Tyn and the Mistr Jan Hus statue.
Pokračovala jsem Pařížskou ulicí (jedna z nejdražších ulic v Praze, plná obchodů luxusních značek) směrem k Vltavě, kde jsem téměř naproti známému hotelu Intercontinental (na obrázku zcela vpravo) uviděla zajímavou secesní budovu nazvanou U první reduty, postavenou podle návrhu architekta Bedřicha Bendelmayera. / As I continued over the Pařížská street, which is one of the most expensive streets in Prague because of many luxurious boutiques placed here, towards the Vltava river, I went to this interesting building called "By the first reduta". It is situated just across from the famous hotel Intecontinental (on the rigt side of the photo) and it was built in the style of Art Nouveau according to the concept of the architect Bedřich Bendelmayer.
Za domem U první reduty jsem našla další architektonickou zajímavost - budovu První americko-české pojišťovny. / Right behind the house "By the first reduta" I found another curiosity of architecture - the building of the "First American-Czech Insurance Company", as the sign says.
Pak už jsem stála na břehu řeky, s Letnou před sebou. Tohle je pohled na Hanavský pavilon s vyhlídkou a restaurací. / And then I stood at the bank of the Vltava river, with the Letná Park in front of me. This is a view towards the Pavilion of Hanau, there is a nice view-point at Prague and a restaurant.

Sešla jsem dolů z Letné a Maiselovou ulicí se vydala zpět do centra města. Na domě, kde Mordechaj Maisel ("dvorní Žid" císaře Rudolfa II. a významná osobnost pražské židovské komunity 16. století) bydlel, jsem nalezla následující zobrazení. Obrázek vpravo zachycuje Maiselovu ženu. / I went downstairs from Letná Park and through Maiselova street I continued back to the centre of the city. At the house, where Mordechai Maisel, an important person of the Prague Jewish community in the 16th century and the "first Jew of the Court" of the Habsburg emperor Rudolph II., used to live, I found this sign. The picture on the right shows Mordechai Maisel's wife.

Prošla jsem uličkami Josefova na Staroměstské náměstí a Celetnou ulicí se vydala k Prašné bráně až k ulici Na Příkopě. Naproti Prašné bráně mě samozřejmě zaujala socha na budově České národní banky. / I went through the streets of the Josefov's quarter to the Old Town Square and then through Celetná street and Powder Gate at the street Na Příkopě. Right across the Powder Gate I was impressed by this statue, situated on the roof of the Czech National Bank building.
Příkopy jsou pro oko fotografa vůbec zajímavou ulicí, když se tam ovšem vydá v době, kdy se zde pohybují menší davy turistů. Pak si může všímat i takovýchto detailů na budovách, jako jsou tyto reliéfy od Stanislava Suchardy a Celdy Kloučka na budově bývalé živnostenské banky. / The street Na Příkopě is really an interesting place for the eye of the photographer - but he needs to go there in time, when the crowds of tourist are moving here in lesser amounts, so he could notice even such nice details on the buildings. On the photo are the reliefs from Stanislav Sucharda and Celda Klouček, located at the building of former trade bank.
Na stejné budově (č.p. 858/20 - rohový dům s ulicí Nekázankou) naleznete i mozaiky s historizující, heraldickou a folklorní tematikou podle návrhů Mikoláše Alše. / On the same building (# 858/20 - the house at the corner with Nekázanka street) you can find these mosaics with historical, heraldic and folklore themes, mady by concepts from famous Czech painter and illustrator Mikoláš Aleš.

A další z mozaik Mikoláše Alše, tentokrát s folklorním motivem dívky spřádající konopné vlákno (viz rostlina vpravo) při pastvě krav. / And another mosaic by Mikoláš Aleš, this time with a folklore motive of a girl spinning a hempen thread (according to the flower on the right) while guarding the cows on their feast.

Můžeme se přesunout dál směrem k Václavskému náměstí, k domu č.p. 858/14. Tam najdeme takovéto reliéfní plastiky. Mj. zde stával dům U tří lip, kde zemřela Božena Němcová. / Let's move on towards the Wenceslas Square, where we can find these interesting reliefs. Among others there stood a house "By three linden", where the popular female Czech author Božena Němcová died.
